A taste of our taste over the last week or so…
Another week, another mixtape…
Pictures Music sensation Lapalux returns with a brand new slice of delectable post-genre electronica.
Lapalux has just started an Australian tour. Pretty much as the weather here has resorted to being incredibly unpredictable in all ways apart from that it will be shit. Part of me is tempted not to post this out of jealousy and spite but it really is too good to be that petty about things.
We’d hope that you are both aware of and regularly check the Mint Magazine Music Blog. If not here’s the best of last week…
I have never heard the original of this track. I have no intention of ever doing so. Sneaking suspicion this happened last time I heard a Lapalux remix. Whatever, Mario’s a plumber or I don’t care. This bootleg is fucking incredible though.
I’ll be honest I’m not overly sure who Lianne La Havas is. I’ve heard the name and stuff but usually in a context which causes me to be overwhelmed with disinterest. I get the impression she’s meant to sell lots of records this year. Listening to this I guess she’s got a pleasant voice or something. Unless Lapalux plays around with the rest of her output I doubt I will voluntarily listen to her again though.
Today is International Women’s Day. Ninja Tune have released some free downloads in honour of this. They are good. Download them. Support women’s rights internationally. I am not going into anything more on this subject. I have learnt my lesson about this before. I believe exactly what you do on the it. In fact if you prefer, I didn’t use to, but you have convinced me. Fucking minefield of a topic. Good tunes though.
Let it never be said that Essex can’t produce it’s own fair share of the achingly elegant.
Streets Of Beige is essentially the part of the video for Sisqo’s ‘Thong Song’ where the camera pans across all the thonged butts.
