At home with Arran Gregory.
We recently spent a day at the studio & home of Arran Gregory, an illustrator & sculptor whose organic style of work we have always loved. We’ve featured his work & projects here at Mint on multiple occasions and we decided it was time to get an in-depth look into the man behind the chisels, sharpies & the Slam City Skates bear.
In talks with|Little Dragon*
Soundwave festival is rapidly approaching and were supper excited about that, because we’ll be heading over to Croatia to cover the festival for those of you that aren’t going, it’s a tough life….Recently we had a quick chat with one of the incredible bands performing at this years festival, Sweden’s fantastic Little Dragon……
In talks with|Alex McLeod.
Alex McLeod’s work is like nothing I’ve seen before, it leads me slowly off into a dreamy world of ‘what ifs?’ and ‘if only’s,’ which is a pretty nice place to be. Kanye West is in to his work so you just know it’s gonna be good.
In the studio: Aleksandra Waliszewska.
Aleksandra’s paintings could quite easily work as illustrations for the most bed-wetting-inducing children’s book ever written.
The Parliament Of Feathers.
So the Parliament Of Feathers is an all new screen printing studio set up by 3 like minded creative individuals in the sea swept outskirts of Brighton. Their ideas seem simple, to have a hub where people can walk in and out as they please, a place where like minded individuals can go to print and produce awesome tailor made screen printed goods and to just hang out really!
In the studio: Will Laren.
Will is a comic book artist from Baltimore who actually makes me laugh with the scenes he depicts.
Suicides, Sofas & So On: New Art Now
From suicides cartoons and surreal sofas to feasting vultures and seaside dice, contemporary art sounds more intriguing than ever. Thomas McMullan samples the freshest art in London…
Sir Clintavius.
Clinton is from “The Moon’s Nest – home to hooligans, hoodlums, rastafarians, wizards and gypsies alike.” He collages from people out of National Geographic, dreams he’s had, and whatever feels groovy.
In the studio: Romina Iglesias.
Romina is a young artist who draws awesome stuff like gnarly death scenes (with an emotional twist) and the first moment in an adolescent man’s life when he turns in to a werewolf. She gave us a guided tour of her toy filled studio.
In the studio: Spencer Mann.
Spencer lives in a small town, in a smaller apartment, in a smaller bedroom – and he doesn’t have a studio as such, so instead he sent us these photos of the right hand side of the small bedroom that he shares.
