Introducing Delmar.

Categorised as INTERVIEW., SKATE.

Given the current economic crisis and shitty ‘rich get richer‘ conditions that most of us are forced to keep on trucking through of late, it seems now more than ever is the appropriate time to give this job thing a go on your own. Which brings me on to Delmar. Delmar is an independently ran skate apparel brand from the south west of England that are doing exactly that with some pretty rad products and fresh innovative ideas. We decided to find out from the guys involved, what Delmar is all about. Introducing Delmar.

What’s up Delmar. Can you tell us what you’re all about?

We are an independent clothing brand from the south west of England. The brand started off in July 2011, and since then we have been dedicated to making it a cool brand that people would want to wear and represent. We decided to start up Delmar because we wanted to create something new to serve the skateboarding scene. As we are skateboarders and designers ourselves we thought it would be fun if we created something based around that. We design clothes pretty much based on what we would wear ourselves and what looks rad.

Can you introduce us to some of your products?

We have just released our new 2012 range, which features a new emblem design back print t-shirt and hoody, along with a typographic hand drawn design t-shirt. We also have a small run of beanies.

Who designs your products?

We’re designers ourselves so we take care of all the design at Delmar. One of us is a graphic designer (Tom Frankham) and the other is an illustrator (Ryan Salter). We pretty much run through ideas and compromise to see who would be better at that one design.

Besides running Delmar, what do you guys get up to?

We’re both in our third years of uni, studying graphic design and illustration. When we’re not at uni we pretty much skateboard every day.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Right now? Suicidal Tendencies.

What’s next for Delmar?

Well, we’re going to carry on doing what we’re doing and aim to release some shirts for summer. In the future we will hopefully start selling Delmar in stores in the UK or anywhere else in the world that are stoked on our stuff.
