Alex Olson.

Don’t get me wrong, I love London – but New York is just a tiny bit more rad – and it looks awesome in black & white photos. Imagine what it looks like in real life if you’re colour-blind. Alex Olsen wishes he lived there too; ‘L.A doesn’t seem like there’s that much going on besides people in the movie business. Oh actually, the only thing is that surfing isn’t as easy in New York as it is in L.A.’  Other than surfing (and skating, duh) Alex takes some of his photos out of New York, as well as all the other places he visits skating for Vans and Girl.

Alex told us how he got in to photography (a story that makes us a bit jealous): “I started to take photos because I was skating for Toy Machine at the time and Ed Templeton, who runs Toy Machine, is also an art photographer – so I picked up a camera, and I wasn’t crazy about it when I was 16 but I started to travel a lot more and started to shoot more and got way more in to it.” Since then he’s gathered an impressive portfolio, which includes, amongst a wealth of other stuff, some of his favourite subjects; friends in New York City, skate-trips and his dad. Alex chose a selection of these for you to see below.
