Then & Now – Scroobius Pip.
“Thou shalt not judge Lethal Weapon by Danny Glover..”
Recently we caught up with the bearded poet himself, one Scroobius Pip for his ‘Then & Now’ playlist. Read on dear children.….

Then
Sage Francis – Sea Lion
‘I remember this coming out of vinyl with a version featuring Saul
Williams. Saul Williams, Sage Francis and Bonny Prince Billy all on one
track?! What bearded individual could resist?’
Saul Williams – Black Stacey
‘Speaking of Saul Williams…this track got played to death in my 1987 space cruiser when it came out. Perfect combination of content and delivery.’hang on… my tastes havent changed much in the last 5 years! So im gonna do
the last three as 10 years ago…that way its more shameful…
Incubus-A certain shade of green
‘I loved incubus. My brother recently found a letter i sent to him at uni
accompanied by a taped copy of S.C.I.E.N.C.E by Incubus professing it to
be the best album i’d ever heard. Ahem.’
‘System of a Down blew me away when they came out. Then, gradually, they blew away everyone in my local area to the extent the local club night would play 4 or 5 System songs in one night. That killed it for me…’
‘Yes. Limp Bizkit. I want to quickly state that Fred Durst has in no way
influenced me as a white rapper. When this came out it was the perfect
“angry teen” soundtrack.’
Now
P.O.S – Purexed

listing a song off “Never Better”. I rate it as the best hip hop album in
years.’
The XX – VCR
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5Vg6F48mA8
‘Everyone is listening to the XX right now arent they? Its just a damn good
album.’
Gil Scot Heron – New York is killing me
Leatherface – Not a day goes by

‘This is one of my favourite songs of all time. Its an oldie but it influenced so much of the punk i grew up listening too (all the lookout records stuff.)’
Cyndi Lauper – When you were mine
‘Werent expecting that were you! Classic song. Lauper is well underrated and this Prince written track is a ban
