Download: Keith Canisius – Save The Sharks EP
“Danish Ambient-Chillwave” is the description. It was enough to lure me in even if it was buzz-word central. In reality it’s a reasonably apt description as these five tracks veer between washed out dream pop vocals permeating through lo fi guitars, loops and electronics and the odd genuinely sparse ambient moment. Keith Canisius is an American, however, but he lives in Denmark and was the founding member in Danish shoegaze group Rumskib, so we’ll let him off in this transnational age. For me, Save the Sharks is the stand-oud track, slowly building into lo-fi crescendo before tracking back into the ether and bringing the whole EP to a sublime close. Save the Sharks was released in Denmark in February and is now up for a ‘pay what you want’ (aka ‘free’) download. Though don’t be fooled by the liberal pricing, it’s worth a lot more than what you are about to pay.
