Secret Eats: Nine French Place
Nine French Place is a cullinary collaboration between two of London’s most exciting young chefs. The pop-up is the brainchild of Daniel Morgan and Magnus Reid who met last year and bonded heavily over their love for great food.
A few months later and the two are setting up a converted warehouse in the middle of Shoreditch for a four-day collaboration of mouth watering delights. The menu is a closely guarded secret at the moment but will involve heavily juxtaposed flavours and textures. Once seated, following drinks and canapes, dinner will consist of five courses served at a 25 seat banqueting table, with the emphasis on all diners sharing the experience and mingling together.
Daniel Morgan trained at The Ritz when he was 19 and went on to work at esteemed eateries Maze and The Square. Since then he’s helped Heston Blumenthal with food ideas and even cooked at the Queens Jubilee at Buckingham Palace.
Magnus is soon to open a restaurant and coffee bar just around the corner from French Place. Having worked in a plethora of small-scale kitchens while in London (The Bathhouse, Hackney Pearl, Dalston Superstore, A Little of What you Fancy to name a few) his first restaurant promises to be an intimate experience, heavily focused on simple, quality food.
Original cocktails and canapés will be served from 7pm in the downstairs bar, before patrons will be seated on a 25 seat banqueting table.
