There’s a wave of uncharacteristic patriotism sweeping the nation. All the good daytime TV has been turned into olympics coverage and sports replaces weather as light conversational topic of choice. Cashing in on this are English brand Umbro and icon of the British knit scene John Smedley.
If the waterproof union jack poncho being touted on street corners London-wide is not to your sartorial relish you may be more interested in the products of this Great British collaboration.
Retailing between £125 -£175 respectively it’s unlikely these pieces will be accessorised with an athletic sheen of perspiration, but are available now for anyone wanting to own a piece of British sporting heritage.
