Last week in the middle of London Fashion Week we went backstage to the New Power Studios show for their SS12 collection ‘BIRTHS, DEATHS and MARRIAGES’, inspired by the venue itself, Somerset House, which was formerly used as a registration office. The show was a celebration of the most important moments in life; birth, death and marriage, with various sets designed out of paper and card depicting those moments in life. Clothing-wise it was urban sportswear with a distinctly retro futurist style but there were also nods to vintage sensibility.
