Shelbie Dimond-Thats ‘Diamond’ to you*
Shelbie is back at mint with her very own feature! She’s a freelance photographer hailing from the small town of Delton, Michigan. Most of her work reminds me of vintage photographs (which i love as I am a big film lover too), and they all hold some sort of fairy tale type mood.Take a step into Shelbie’s world of beaches, cats and her man.

‘So I’m Shelbie Dimond- pronounced “diamond” and I have an undying love for analog photography. I shoot a lot of polaroid- my favorites being spectra and pull apart pack film. I shoot diary/personal documentary type photographs everyday- currently shooting through a disposable AAA insurance camera. My birthday is coming up, so I’ve been wishing and hoping for a Yashica T4.’

‘I’ll shoot anything I can get my hands on, but my (working) gear right now is very limited- a couple TLRs, Canon 5d, polaroid 450,440,polaroid spectra, Kodak Instamatic R4, and a little Beacon cam I found in an antique mall. I like to take pictures when the lighting is doing really weird, beautiful things.’

‘I shoot when I don’t want to forget. I like to take the dreams in my head and put them on film. I like to show off pretty people I know and meet- pretty meaning a myriad of different things. I really want to get into more fashion oriented photography. I try not to post process too much, getting everything the way I want in-camera is prime. Experimenting is a must though.’

‘My main goal right now is to keep shooting, to keep showing my work. RAW SF is having a show in San Francisco next month, March 24th, where they will be showcasing my work. Other than that, I have this idea of buying a tuck and airstream trailer and hitting the road with my man, documenting anything and everything that comes along.’
