You know how people’s profile photos are with their exes after they’ve broken up still and it’s all awkward? Talena’s saying ah fucka you to that and putting all her old photos of friends and lovers out there.

“Portraits of friends and lovers, often for me they tend to hang around longer than the relationships do (the lovers, anyhow).  In this period of total connectivity with people through facebook, flickr, etc etc if I continued to post photos of people with whom my relationship has deteriorated, it probably would not go unnoticed.  And it would communicate something awkward.  So, when a relationship with someone in my life changes, I feel as though I’m stuck, unable to do anything with these wonderful portraits.  I would imagine most any one who shoots in a similar style has been left with this same quandary.  So now I’m liquidating them, putting them out there, and the subjects can interpret it however they wish.”
