Lizzie Strupat-Like in the movies.
Lizzie Strupat is a 19 year old photographer. Born and raised in Laguna Beach, CA, she now resides in London and attends The London College of Fashion pursuing a degree in Fashion Photography. Hey Lizzie, can you give us a bit of an insight into you and your beautiful work?

‘I love any picture that looks like a screenshot from a movie. I love when an image leaves you feeling like you need the rest of the story–for example, the work of Tim Walker, Gregory Crewdson or Alex Prager. I die for dreamy colors, anything with a hint of darkness or mystery and fashions from the 20′s, 40′s and 60′s.’

‘I predominantly use a canon ae-1 program, a camera my father passed down to me, to take my photos. Originally, I began using for a darkroom class I took last year. I carry my camera everywhere with me and mostly choose to capture moments with my friends or, as of late, do impromptu photo shoots whenever an idea strikes.’

‘Even though many of my images are not planned, I do try to add a dreamy, cinematic feel to them. I hope to incorporate more planned images with sets and props into my work in the future. During a shoot I usually get the model talking and have them tell me about an experience which sparks my interest. Then we sort of go from there. I let the model’s story and emotions carry me to the right shot. I don’t usually do much post processing if anything because I use film. ‘
